I went for this shoe horn because it was extendable and extended to a decent length. It is an adequate item and I need to be careful with it as it's not a very sturdy product. With care and non-heavy handed use, it should last a long time but you will need to be careful as the screw joint on it is slightly on the weak side. Would I recommended it?? Well it's better than nothing and I will always be keeping an eye open for something just as long as this and with more sturdiness.

My Dad is 80 and finds it hard to bed over and put his shoes on and then take them off. These are the perfect solution. Im not sure how sturdy they are or how long they will last but I got the buy one get one free offers so it was a bargin.

First use. Popped my shoe on with this shoe horn, then on extracting the shoe horn from between my heel and the back of the shoe, the shoe horn came apart. Not at the extendable joint, but at the joint mid way along the steel tube. I have pushed this back together but clearly this fatal flaw in the design will cause this to happen again and again, which is a pain as one its come apart I'm unable to reach down and remove the bit of tube left sticking out the back of the shoe. It's pretty much useless :o(

But would like to see a redesign! I bought a extendable back scratcher for my parents which is small, well made and useful - looks more like a car aerial, whereas this seems a rather half-hearted attempt at telescoping. It needs a bit of attention to avoid unscrewing the wrong bit, locking the telescoping bit (more like the type used on loppers!), and not closing too far and popping the top off. However, apart from all that, it's fine!!!

These are great my only fault is the clip on the back, its for clipping onto the back of a shoe and it works really when used to put on shoes but I brought this to help put on knee lengh boots and thought, the clip came off but it doesn't! But worth the money and works well for shoes!
